Portfolio Idea

I was conversing with a few students today about possible ideas for a business as well as narrowing down our options. I teamed up with quite a few animation students and we finally narrowed down our ideas to a select few ideas that should prove promising. One of the ideas was to create a portfolio website with which we could show our work, as well as the various skills and techniques we implement in our work. College will soon be over so this seemed like a good way to promote our work to potential employers.

A multitude of names for our portfolio website came up, here are some examples.

Domefolio, Mellennium°, Third°, Folio Warehouse, Folennium, SE10 Archives, Cyber°, 2000 Degrees, 2000°, 3rd°, MM Folio, MM Degrees, MM°, Rave Studio, Rave Web, Rave Network, 3rd Degree Burns, 3 Degrees, The Third Network, The 3rd Network

It was a unnanimous decision amongst group members that The 3rd Network was the most appropriate and was considered the best name among all the options.

I have joined a group consisting of many individuals from various fields with different talents and skills in order to come up with a business concept. None of us really new anything about setting up our own company, but this was part of the challenge. The project would assess our teamwork and collaborative skills to utilise our different skills in various areas of the company or website. Our concept will be judged by tutors who will assess whether our idea is "watertight" and has potential to make a profit.

Initially our group as a whole found it difficult to come up with an appealing idea that we were happy with. However, we learned that many of us wanted to showcase our work in some way and promote ourselves to potential employers. The website seemed to fulfill those needs. I think this idea is a promising one that not only promotes student but the Ravenbourne college as creative institution.
